Must-Haves To Cook Outside During The Summer

Using your RV stove and oven during hot summer days heat up the inside of your rig very quickly. Try to cook outside as much as possible or choose cold meals like sandwiches or salads.

Here is a list of must-have items for cooking outside in the summer.

Folding Table

Often the picnic table at your campsite is not enough to give you space for your food on top of being the table for mealtimes. It is handy to bring a folding table to set up in minutes to hold your food, beverages, plates and other items.

Bug Screen

Keep bugs away while you are preparing food with a bug screen that looks like a mesh food tent. It will keep all kinds of flies off your food.

Awning Shade Screen

Protect yourself and your food from the sun with an awning shade screen if your campsite offers no shade. The awning shade screen will help you and your food stay cool.

Tabletop Grill

A tabletop portable grill is a good option when it is too hot to cook inside the RV, or when you can’t roast food over the campfire due to a burn ban in effect. Connect your tabletop grill to propane and you can cook on the spot.

Grill Scraper

Whether you use the grill provided by your campsite or your own, it is a good idea to have a grill cleaning brush with other BBQ tools, such as a thermometer and tongs. Cleaning off the burnt residue on a grill before and after use helps to keep it clean and ensure your food tastes better.
